Blog from July, 2018

Another week has gone since the last release post and yet here we are… Another major release for Feedier 👀Yes, it fast. Well, we’re slowing down a little bit for the summer, we’ll release only minor releases for the next 4 weeks. Summer when you hold us… ☀️But, will be back for some new adventures (and major releases of course) by the end of August. This update covers 17 issues, including:

  • New push API available and documented here ➡️. This will let your developers push feedback text SMS and Email whenever you want to the target you provide. If you are not a developer but still want to build amazing integrations and workflows. We released a 1.0.3 version of our Zapier app that lets you use this API from Zapier directly. For example: new order completed on Magento → push an email to the customer. Automatically. With your own content.

You can find all details in our help center for this integration.

  • New image choice question type. Many users asked it and we did it! A simple to use and beautiful question type to let the user choose between several images that you upload. The goal is to let you create more interactive questions. 🤙

  • New support for Google Analytics tracking right into your Feedback Carrier. This option has been added into the Advanced setting and lets you input your tracking ID. An event will also be sent at the end once the Feedback is completed. Note that this is available only for the App Sumo and Enterprise plans for now. More details here.

  • The official Feedier WordPress plugin (1.1.0) is now available from your Integrations page. Only for users having early access, it’ll be available for all users after the summer. We have some exciting new features coming soon for it. Note that we also added support for WooCommerce, more settings and a live preview in the same update.

  • New Content editor option (again, from the Advanced settings) that lets you override most Feedier strings displayed to the end-user. You need the App Sumo or Enterprise plan to see this feature. All details here.

  • New SMTP Integration ✉️ from the Integrations page. You can now use your own SMTP settings to send Feedier emails (share and reward email types, the ones sent to your customers). No more headache, no more quota. This will also removes Feedier’s branding on the emails.

  • We added 3 new templates 👨‍🍳Consultancy Service Feedback, Ecommerce Satisfaction and Market research to get you started even faster.

  • New option to define your own Privacy page (available from the Advanced settings of every Feedback Carrier).

  • New sharing method → “Iframe” available from the Sharing page. As you can imagine, we give you a ready-to-use embeddable code that you can simply copy/past.

  • Review.co.uk is now available as a rating platform for the 5-star engagement

  • We fixed the insight graph not being rendered on the Reports page for some users.

  • We fixed the highlight weekly/monthly reports being sent several times every week for some users.

What’s coming next (and soon!)?

  • Transitional question type

  • New sharing methods (QR code and iframe)

Finally, here we are, we are proud to release Feedier version 1.0.0!

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

After 3 major updates in the last 3 weeks we decided it was the right time to reach this important milestone. We received tons of interesting feedback and this release brings the most important ones. But not only. New features from our team, improvements and fixes through 30 tasks, featuring:

  • Widget V2. What does that mean? 🤔We added new attributes to customize the widget on your site (offset X and Y, custom content…) but most importantly, the user can now give his Feedback within your site as an “in-site“ experience. No more redirection. We also added a Full Screen option to make the experience even better.

  • New layout for the sharing page, we deleted everything and restarted to make it more clear and easy to navigate through. You now simply select the sharing method, Feedier will show you an overview and guide you through the different steps. Easy 🤝

  • We decreased the response time by 50% on the dashboard side 😱!! Which will make you Feedier experience way better ⚡⚡⚡. No more endless (well at least slow) loading. We are working hard to make it even better…

  • New button to delete any Feedback (from the Feedback entries page), so you can remove your tests from your real data.

  • New option to choose which notification you want to receive, available from the Profile page.

  • New Feedback Carrier score widget, works exactly as our organization score widget but it’s based on the Feedback Carrier’s data only. So perfect for your product / site pages.

  • New info modals, available for the filters, questions, ratings, engagements and questions those new modals will show you the author, creation date and last edit date (for now). We believe this is essential for any team collaboration

  • The Feedback API now returns the answers as a “question/rating“ => “value“ unique key pairs so they can be easily read in Zapier. But also the custom fields so you can segment easily automatically on your side 😎

  • We added a preview for every question, engagement or reward type so you know what you will expect before creating it. It’ll make your life easier and avoid you the process of testing everything before making a call.

  • Notifications are now fixed, some users were receiving them even though it was off from their Profile page. Shame. Sorry about that. This is fixed.

  • We improved the email images so they load faster and we also now generate 1 unique image (thumbnail) per carrier which is branded to your company automatically. It will be displayed when the link is shared on any social network.

  • We fixed all issues to the teammate creation ($carrierId missing message).

  • We improved the Feedback Carrier creation UX to make it faster, no more error and a new navigation to get back at any step.

  • The errors (yes, it happens…) are now more clear.

  • The email deliverability for Feedback Carriers using custom domains have been improved so the emails won’t end up in the SPAM inbox 📭

  • Croatian translation 🇭🇷(thanks to @Miljenko)

  • Indonesian translation 🇮🇩(thanks to @anjrah ari susanto)

  • Many improvements to the English, Portuguese and German versions as well.

  • We improved the responsive version, again… 😶

Another major release for Feedier this week (smile) We usually don’t post articles for minor releases but as it was quite an usually week on our side, we pushed one last week regarding the 0.8.X release. So that one includes all the changes in the last article + 20 issues, here is the highlight:

  • IFRAME support, so you can now embed your Feedback carrier in any page or app using an <iframe> element 🏄‍♂️This also fixes an issue on Safari for customers previewing the Feedback carrier and who had a white page instead.

  • Custom fields support, under the Advanced settings section (Settings > Actions > Edit), you will now have the ability to have custom fields that will be asked at the end of the feedback (first name, department, birthday…whatever you need). Those are optional for now and can be pre-filled using GET parameters. So if you have the data, just pass it along the Feedback carrier link and you’ll find it back in the single feedback report for any new feedback 😎 More details here.

  • Random coupon reward, you can now upload coupons as .csv, Feedier will import them and distribute them randomly to any new feedback winning a reward. Until there is no more available coupon. The .csv must be a standard one and simply need the correct header (see help box in the app), it works with Magento, WooCommerce… out of the box. For every reward distributed you’ll be able to access the coupon won right from the single feedback report (Feedbacks page or Rewards page)

  • Better settings page, you’ll now find all the Feedback carrier advanced settings in the Settings screen, including the custom domain. No need to go to the edit modal every time.

  • Custom domain improvements, it’s now done all automatically so as long as it’s setup correctly on your DNS provider, Feedier will match it automatically. We are also in the process of supporting custom paths. More details here. It should work now, we’re still working on it so feel free to report any issue.

  • We added the video tutorials right into the app (onboarding screen + single screens) so you can access the tutorials quickly without leaving Feedier

  • A fix to the duplicated carriers having a blank ratings page, all sorted out 👍

  • A fix to the Zapier API callback, it’ll now work fine as it was last week, sorry for the trouble here 😬

  • A fix to the SMS sharing modal, the validation now better supports American and Canadian numbers

  • Polish translation 🇵🇱(thanks to @Marcela Masina)

  • Dutch translation 🇳🇱(thanks to JIM)

  • Romanian translation 🇷🇴(thanks to @Dan Iavorszky)

  • Czech translation 🇨🇿(thanks to @Josef)

  • An update to the german translation 🇩🇪

  • Client role

  • Greek translation 🇬🇷
